Deleting your Play.it account

The quickest way is inside the app. Open Play.it, go to Profile, scroll to the bottom and choose Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm, and shown exactly what will be removed before anything happens.
If you cannot get into the app
Email [email protected] from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete your account. We will confirm it is you, delete the account, and reply to confirm. We aim to do this within 7 days and will always do it within 30.
If you email from a different address we may ask you a few questions to be sure the account is yours. We would rather be slow than delete the wrong person's account.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in and email address
- Your profile, display name and photo
- Your phone number and contact details
- Your notification settings and preferences
- Training drills and notes you created at home
- Your membership of any team chats
- Requests and invitations you had sent
- Any listings you had posted to the Market
What stays, and why
If you are a parent
Your child's player record stays with their team. Deleting your account unlinks you from your child — it does not remove them from the squad. That record belongs to the team and the coach needs it to run the team, including the emergency contact and medical information you gave them.
If you want your child's record removed as well, ask their coach, or email us and we will pass it on.
If you are a coach
Teams are shared. If you coach a team alongside other coaches, the team carries on with them and you are simply removed from it.
If you are the only coach of a team, we cannot delete your account straight away. Doing so would take the whole squad, the fixtures, the chat and other families' information with it. Add another coach to the team first, or delete the team yourself, and then delete your account. The app will tell you if this applies to you and which team it is.
Things that are part of the team's record
Match results, scores, stats and messages you have already sent to a team chat stay with the team, in the same way a paper teamsheet would. They are no longer linked to your account.
How long it takes
Deleting from inside the app is immediate. Backups are kept for up to 30 days for disaster recovery and your data is removed from those as they expire.
Changed your mind?
Deletion cannot be undone. There is no way for us to bring an account back once it has gone, so please be sure before you confirm. You are welcome to sign up again from scratch at any time.
